Senior SAP SCM Consultant
Focus: Materials Management, inventory, procurement, and MRO supply chain
The role
You will lead the materials and procurement workstream on implementations and assessments: purchasing, inventory, planning, and warehouse. MRO and spares are a big part of it, because maintenance work stops when the part is not on the shelf, so stocking policy and criticality get as much of your attention as transaction configuration. Production materials, source-to-pay, and supplier collaboration are in scope too.
What you will do
- Configure and support MM and Inventory Management: material master, purchasing, pricing, release strategies, valuation, physical inventory, and movement types.
- Design MRP and replenishment for MRO and production materials, including planning parameters, safety stock, reorder points, and forecast settings.
- Work through spares criticality, stocking policy, and slow-moving and obsolete inventory analysis with client planners.
- Design and support warehouse processes (WM, EWM, or Inventory Management with storage bins) and staging to maintenance orders.
- Support source-to-pay integration, including Ariba and supplier collaboration touchpoints.
- Own functional specifications for conversions, interfaces, and reporting, and drive testing through cutover.
- Coach MRP controllers and planners on how to run the system after we leave.
Required experience
- 8 or more years of hands-on SAP MM/IM configuration with at least two full lifecycle implementations.
- Strong MRP and inventory optimization background, ideally including MRO or spare parts environments.
- Procurement process depth: purchase requisitions, POs, service entry sheets, contracts, scheduling agreements, invoice verification, and GR/IR resolution.
- Integration fluency with PM, PS, FI/CO, and SD.
- Comfort building the business case for a stocking or planning change, and then defending it with data.
Also valuable
- S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement, including Fiori-based procurement roles.
- Ariba (Buying and Invoicing, Sourcing, Supplier Lifecycle) integration experience.
- EWM implementation experience.
- Material master data governance, cleansing, or MDG-M.
- Oil and gas, chemicals, utilities, municipalities, or regulated manufacturing.
